By working through the DNA results for various San Diego Jewish Genealogical Society members, Kitty Cooper will demonstrate how to use your DNA results to learn more about your ancestry and perhaps find a few cousins to share your interest in genealogy research.

There may be some time at the end of the program for a few live looks. So be sure to bring your GED match kit numbers.

Her blog – http://blog.kittycooper.com - currently receives over 2000 unique visitors a day and is primarily focused on genetic genealogy.  She started doing family history and genealogy in 1997 upon meeting a 2nd cousin who was a genealogist at her aunt's funeral. Romania: At Last!!!

By:

 Sandra Seay

After having her genetic DNA tested, Sandra started on a journey of family genealogy which eventually led to discovering cousins in England who shared her Romanian roots. Together, with the help of a Romanian professor, Sandra and her newly found cousins decided to visit Romania to explore the origins of their great grandparents. This presentation is the story of that journey.

Sandra Seay was born in England of mixed religious heritage. Her gentile mother became a Jewish convert when she married her Jewish father. She has lived in New Zealand and California where she presently resides.  She has had a varied background including a career as an interior designer as one of several assistants to Donna Karen.  She began her journey as an amateur genealogist 10 years ago when she became curious about her family history.
