Mission Statement: The San Diego Genealogical Council is a coalition of local genealogical societies working together as a source for society information and issues such as venue and speaker recommendations, address problem areas as attendance, of how publicity and volunteerism, and to plan seminar dates cooperatively so as to not negatively affect attendance at seminar meetings and to promote and publicize genealogy.
The 2nd. annual San Diego Genealogy Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2016. It will be held at the beautiful San Diego History Center building in Balboa Park. This year's keynote speaker will be genealogist Anne Gillespie Mitchell, better known to her Ancestry.com readers as "Ancestry Anne". Check out her blog posts here.
Maureen Taylor, the Photo Detective, will be the speaker at the San Diego Genealogical Society's Fall Seminar on September 10th. You don't want to miss her as she is traveling all the way from the East Coast.
